Product Information: (March 2008)
This ARF kit features a fiberglass fuselage with balsa sheeted foam wings.

I am glad to get my hands on this HET new release F-18 (TWIN). No doubt currently I am still working on my SM F-16 but after I had received this HET F-18, I really can't wait to get it started.

I would say this F-18 is a high performance twin EDFs set up Jet therefore, I reckon that it will be more suitable for intermediate and advance pilot.

I was thinking of installing retracts system for this F-18, however, after inspecting room for retracts, I realised that there is'nt much space for me to install the main gear because retracts will be in way of the inner ducting. Well end of the day, I will have to stick with fixed landing gear instead. I think it is a shame for such a nice kit to come out of the factory without any retracts ready mount for those "ROG" pilots.

I got mine in "Blue Angel" scheme and all parts are being sand down for a respray job.

All molding lines are being sanded down and filled lever with putty.

Following pictures are some little details which I had added onto this F-18.

Real F-18

I always like to add details on my jet to make it more "scale" looking and ofcouse it must be able to perform as well. I personally thinks that a RC Jet will be incomplete without either one of the factor.

Real F-18

Ventilation holes for batts compartment.

I was thinking of adding panel lines on this F-18 but at the end, I decided not to do it.

Intake. As you can see there is no room for retracts modification.

Ductings will be in way of retracts.

Air Intake

To save me from cracking my head thinking of ways to install retracts system on this F-18, I decided to go straight into fixed gear.

looks good.

Cut slots for servo's horn to go through and install control horn on control surface as provided in the kit.

LEDs are fitted to create an after burner effect on this hornet.

Fixed gear installed and now I will make some gear doors at later part.

I had placed ESC behind motor for better cooling.

"Plug and Play" set from High-end Technology RC which are going to be installed onboard this Hornet.

Round off the front of the shroud will make installation of the fan unit into the duct easier.

Nose gear and door

Custom made gear doors and drop tank .

Primer sprayed

It's time to layout the equipment tray before paint job.
